Versed AI applies cutting-edge academic research to solve real-world supply chain problems using AI. Our company began when Simon Baker, a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge’s Language Technology Lab and Pascal Wichmann, a PhD student at the Department of Engineering developed technology based on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) to identify relationships between entities from text documents.

The team proceeded to win Cambridge Enterprise’s Postdoc Business Competition and Entrepreneurial Postdocs of Cambridge (EPoC) as Versed AI, using their technology to map multi-tier supply chains, reveal patterns and illuminate missing links in supply chain networks.

Today, Versed AI is helping large enterprises gain deep, valuable and actionable insights into their supply chain sub-tiers. We’re backed by leading organisations such as Innovate UK, Y Combinator, University of Cambridge Enterprise, Founders Factory and BT as we continue to develop our capabilities and grow our high-calibre team as we help companies monitor, manage and mitigate risk.

Dr Simon Baker

Co-founder & CTO
Simon is a post-doc from the University of Cambridge specialising on AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP). He is also an Enterprise Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and has a PhD (Cantab) in Computer Science.

Fenella Boyle

Co-Founder & CEO
Fenella has 16 years of experience in financial strategy and analysis background, most recently at UBS where she focussed on manufacturing industries. She holds an MA, MBA and CFA.

Iain Blair

CPO
Iain is a military grade software engineer with 10 years industry experience. He has an MBA from London Business School and a BEng Aeronautical from University of Sydney.

Hannah Tilston

COO
Hannah has over 10 years of FTSE100 experience in engineering & manufacturing. She led a global procurement digital & workforce transformation and has an MBA, MA (Cantab) and MSc.
